Oxford Citizens for Peace
and Justice (OCPJ) has available annual income from its Bloom
Peace Education Fund, established in honor of dedicated peace
and justice advocates, Mel and Rosie Bloom. Individuals or groups
are invited to apply for a grant from the Bloom Fund to support
educational peace and justice projects or actions taking place
in, or originating in, the Oxford area. The purpose of the grants
is to provide peace education, training, and experience for the
dissemination of knowledge to further the cause of peace and justice.
Priority shall be given to local grant applications. At minimum,
OCPJ requires from a Bloom Fund grant recipient a short report
for the Peace Center Press and asks that the recipient acknowledge
OCPJ and the Bloom Peace Education Fund in printed reports, presentations,
or promotional materials. Applications will be accepted for amounts
up to a maximum of $200 per individual request. (Rarely will an
application for an amount over $200 or under $25 be considered)
or $500 for a group. If you have a project or educational/activist
opportunity that you would like to participate in and are looking
for local support consider reviewing the guidelines
and submitting a grant application
to the Bloom Education Fund.
OCPJ would also
welcome contributions to the Bloom Peace Education Fund, which support
the Peace Center, our education resource center, and special education
projects that may include special presentations from activists, workshops
and forums on important issues, movies, and other group events.
You can send your donations by check to: OCPJ
